   Modern web browsing is memory hungry.   
      
   Email... depends. My Thunderbird, started this morning, eats this   
   instant nearly 8 GB of ram. I have seen it at double that after two   
   weeks of use. I suppose it tries to keep in ram all the content from   
   mail accounts and Usenet.
