|    Can't get CD-ROM to boot?    |

XPost: comp.os.ms-windows.misc, comp.os.ms-windows.advocacy, alt.windows95       XPost: alt.windows98       From: dave-usenet3690@mailblocks.com              Trying to boot a W98 CD-ROM, but the LINUX installed on the internal HD       always boots instead.              I've changed the BIOS settings. There are two applicable settings: boot       sequence (now set to "CDROM, C, A") and HD boot (now set to "sec IDE S",       which is where the CD-ROM drive is connected).              System continues to ignore the CD (the drive does spin up, and the access       light blinks) drive and boot from the HD. Not sure why this is so.              Tried holding down C key, no avail.              Is this an issue with the boot LINUX? Is it disallowing CD boot (AFAIK, the       bios is the one who determines boot device, yes?).              Any help getting the Win CD booted so I can install Win on this box would be       greatly appreciated.              This is on a NUTRONICS PC (P1?).              Thanks,       --       Dave C       please reply in the news group              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
