   So you install 98 and 98 only and then have 20MB free or is that after you

   Anyway if you want to reinstall ignore your friend he's a tit the only thing   
   you will need drivers for are the printer and possibly the network card   
   dependant on it's model 98 may have the driver,   
      
   The Cdrom the mouse and keyboard will be detected when 98 installs so just   
   go for it but first consider getting a bigger HD such as a 40 Gig they are   
   quite cheap nowadays
