   I just installed Win98 on a friend's computer with only a 1 GB HD and had   
   900 MB free space left.   
      
   I did do a "skinny" install, but even a full one shouldn't use that much   
   space.   
      
   Best way to do it is a clean install on a fresh HD. If you did an upgrade,   
   you have all kinds of garbage left over from the old Win95 install.   
      
   2 GB is still a pretty small HD even with Win98 if you are going to run   
   very many applications.
