   If the second drive is not connected, does Explorer hang for a few   
   seconds?  If not, then my guess is that the second drive has some   
   residue of one of the old partitions.  And that is confusing Explorer.   
   If there is no valuable data on the second drive, try FDISK and FORMAT   
   again.
