   Can you throttle the CPU down below teh speed limit.  IIRC, I was able   
   to execute the patch by running the chip at 300mHz (for teh AMD k2)   
   and then reset the CPU back to its right speed.  Can you slow teh   
   Athlon down to 1000mHz or slower?  HTH
