|    Have 16, want 256 colors    |

From: TooMuchSpam@hotmail.com               OK, as per my previous post, got Win95 down to my old 486-33 4M laptop. I       have       an issue with the video now, though. I can't seem to get better than 16 colors       out of the screen, but I am pretty sure it supports 256. It's got the Cirrus       CL-GD62x5 video chipset, but the Cirrus Logic driver fails.        When I reboot into safe mode, the screen properties indicate it is at 256       colors, and when I first boot up, the Win95 splash comes in nice and clear, but       changes when the OS drops into 16 color mode. These lead me to believe I can       use       256 colors. Is there any way to force it to use 256 colors?        Thanks for your time.              --       Solar-powered Linux: Slackware9.1 2.4.26 IBM ThinkPad560       1993 BRC Banzai w/60T Real Chainring & Shimano Deore XT              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
