   you should be able to format the drive from windows, fire up explorer   
   and you should see it there, depending on how your system is set up,   
   i.e, a, c:\ should be the first drive then either d or e will be your   
   cdrom/cd writer or even dvd writer, and your new drive, will be the next   
   one, right click on it and it should givew you the option to format it,   
   if you get stuck just e-mail me back
