   No. The old monitor would switch back and forth between looking fine and   
   having a red tint   
   to everything. The new monitor hasn't done this at all so I am reasonable sure   
   the problem

   Not a bad thought but I don't want higher resolution, 600 x 800 is good for a   
   17" monitor.
