OLD means, Windows 95 still relies on BIOS       settings rather than having it's own hardware detection, like Windows NT       and Windows 2000 and Windows XP and like any other modern operating       system.              In reality it is - as always - a pure driver problem. And my laptop seems       to be too old, there are no further BIOS updates for this little computer       of mine.              In such situations I really like Linux - there always comes a version       which supports the hardware that is in my computer. It just has to be       common and cheap, as most voluntary programers have them and write       software (=drivers) for them.                     And another thing - did you look at recent software and it's list of       requirements? It always says "Windows 98 and newer"... Windows 95 is OLD,       there is no more support for it and it will eventually become imposible to       use an modern computer systems as there will be no more drivers for modern       hardware. Or who do you think will write it? Microsoft?                     A late answer it is, indeed...       Ciao,       Andreas.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
