From: ollierr@tpg.com.au              Hi              I recently needed to reinstall XP professional onto my laptop. Ahead of       this, I migrated everything of value off the C drive and onto an external       HDD. Once I had the system up and running again, and I'd added a number of       new products, including ZoneAlarm and Norton AV, I started to bring my       valued files back onto the local drive.              I made the mistake of cutting the files and pasting them into the C drive,       rather than just copying them. Once the process was complete, the receiving       folder       appeared empty, but when I checked the properties, the folder clearly       contained my files - I just couldn't see them.              I copied the 'empty' folder and moved it somewhere else. Sure enough, I       could see the file names as they were moved from one folder to another - but       the new folder was still 'empty' once the transfer was complete.              I've tried to unhide (reveal?) the files using the XP file properties - no       joy. I have no idea what to do. Any ideas what might be happening and/or how       I might fix this?              Thanks       Robert              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
