   Yes, totally good advice for general use. What I'm suggesting though is that   
   if the device seems to have got corrupted in some way, and 'Device A' is   
   having problems reading it properly or even formatting it. Sometimes, can   
   re-format it in 'Device B' then put it back into 'Device A' (and possibly   
   format it a second time). This can sometimes cure the problem...
