From: h2gt2g42-news@yahoo.co.uk              I had a similar problem on a new machine recently albeit a completely       different spec to yours. In the end the problem appeared to be conflict       between XP and its many updates and the motherboard USB 2.0 interface. My       system would freeze like yours at random intervals even when in screen saver       mode. I have my keyboard connected via usb and it would appear that this was       causing the problem. Connecting it via the legacy PS/2 socket provided a       temporary solution. The permanent solution was to update the motherboard       drivers with the latest version which came out early November.              Clearly this could be absolutely nothing to do with your problem. You can       see a more detailed description of my problem in my post to this group on       14/10/06 to which I got no replies. So I offer you the above on the off       chance as I know how frustrating these problems can be.              Graham.                     "Slim Shady" |
