|    WindowsXP shows wrong cpu speed...    |
|    10 Jan 07 13:16:22    |
From: mailregdump@gmail.com              I purchased a new motherboard and CPU, an Athlon64 3200+ with an Abit       NF-M2S motherboard. My existing XP install booted up just fine, I       installed the drivers from the CD, and all seemed to be fine.              However, right-clicking "My Computer" and selecting "Properties" shows a       CPU speed of 575 mhz, instead of the 2000mhz it SHOULD report.              Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Information also reports       575 mhz.              Most third-party utilities report the correct speed, but the bad data       seems to be throwing off some third party application's keyboard repeat       delay/settings.              Any idea what to check? I've installed Athlon64 drivers from AMD, with no       real change. As far as I can tell all powernow/etc. functions are       disabled, it should be running at 2000mhz at all times.              Brian K              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
