|    Importing a foreign disk to XP from 2000    |
|    31 Jan 07 19:02:52    |
From: fairacresREM@btinternet.com              I have just upgraded an old PC and it is now running XP.              I moved a physical drive from another PC running 2000 and installed it in       the upgraded m/c as a secondary drive.              When I boot it up the opening screen identifies a secondary disk but       explorer will not show it.              Computer management shows it as as a 'Foreign Dynamic disk'.              Microsoft knowledge base suggests right clicking and selecting 'import       foreign disk' - I've done this before OK - but if I right click this I do       not get an import option - only 'convert to basic disk' - which I beleive       will wipe the data - not a good option.              Am I doing something wrong or is there a different solution.              Grateful for any advice              Thanks              Scott              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
