|    Windows Explorer Icons in Detail Mode an    |

In Explorer for Windows XP:              I like to view files in Details (View Details) mode, since most of my       files are wordprocessing or spreadsheet files. I don't need to have       them listed as larger icons or tiles or thumbnails. Rather, I'd like       to list the file names, their size, type and date modified.              Is there any way I can override the default so that every directory       appears in Details mode. I'm tired of going to View every time to       enforce it whenever I venture into directories.              Also, how can I permanently turn off that floating note that appears       whenever you scroll through particular file item lines. If they're       listed in Details Mode, I don't need to see Type, Author, Date, Size       every time which shields my view from seeing the names of other files.       I know you can remove them from your view by pressing escape, bu how       can I turn off this incredibly annoying and unhelpful feature for       good?              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
