   I took a look, and took a chance, replacesd the 80 pin I had on there with a   
   new one, still same issue. Pulled it off and put on a 40 pin cable....the   
   drive picked it up and it started up! So your suggestion got me thinking   
   about ATA 66 which this drive shows in the Bios as, that the 40 pin should   
   work....so thanks for the tip!!
