   Install the new hard drive . . . install Windows XP and SP2  . . . then   
   attach the old hard drive . . . making sure that it's the secondary drive .   
   . . after you boot up copy over any files (My Documents, media files,   
   whatever) you want to save from the old drive then from inside WinXP format   
   the old drive and use it as a second drive . . .
