|    Geico for Firewalls? Group Policy - what    |
|    17 Jun 07 04:50:13    |
From: phamp@mindspring.com              Greetings              the firewall is down, and the only reason Microsoft can give is that it       involves a group policy. Unfortunately, the rest must be presumed to be       "obvious" as there is nothing in the "help" files about what one is, or       how to set, reset, or change one.        The tech support center is really cool, and must be useful for       something, but, again, I can't find anything about what sets group       policy or how do I change it.               Meanwhile, MS Firewall is off, disabled, non-functional, disinclined       to acquiesce, and pining for the fords of Redmond. Which wouldn't be so       bad, but EzTrust's firewall which I had been running is also gone a       cropper. Nothing like being told I need to reinstall the software, but       the software doesn't want to install. But that's a separate issue.               So what is a group policy, and how is it changed?              Running Win Xp with Service Pack 2.       pyotr       --       pyotr filipivich       "If once a man indulges himself in Murder, very soon he comes       to think little of Robbing, and from Robbing he comes next to       Drinking and Sabbath-breaking, and from that to Incivility and       Procrastination."
