   I've finally tired enough of paying for the Apple brand on the hardware   
   to run OS X, and tried building my own PC.   
      
   Tried Linux, but have had enough of that and gone ahead and bought XP   
   for my creation.   
      
   Most of the stuff I used on Mac either had a Windows version on the same   
   CD as the Mac version, or else there was a Windows equivalent easily found.   
      
   Only one exception that is really bugging me:  I have yet to find   
   something for Windows that replaces Apple's "Garage Band" app.   
      
   I've found MIDI creation tools that weren't nearly so user-friendly, or   
   that wouldn't let me plink around on the various virtual instruments   
   from my MIDI keyboard without "recording" a sequence, in at least one   
   case only hearing it in piano until I save it and change the instrument.   
      
   All sorts of different complaints, but nothing that let me play around   
   at ease on all the virtual instruments the way Garage Band did.   
      
   Does anyone know of such an app for Windows?
