   I'm sure they have asked him to take a polygraph.   
   However, any lawyer worth her salt would advise him or anyone else NOT to   
   take it.   
   Polygraphs rarely benefit the defendent, even if he is innocent and passes   
   with flying colors.   
   The risk is too great.   
      
   IOW if he passes the police don't leave him alone.   
   If he fails, it gives them even more incentive to pursue him as the   
   suspect.
