      From: support@ciff.homelinux.net              Hey mate..              this sounds like either power supply or mainboard trouble.       For beginners you should maybe see what happens if you test another psu       with your machine.       If the problem persists, some capacitors on your mainboard could be toast.              I experienced something similar with my old AMD K6-233 (which had his       second life as a router for many years) and took everything off the board       to make sure it's not a component, which messes this up. (Sometimes even       damaged PCI cards can cause such effects.) - But nope.. turned out to be       the mainboard in my case. :(              Hope you can get rid of the problem by gifting your machine a brand new psu. :)              Cif                            VMG wrote:       > My computer recently failed to boot into Windows XP, cycling indefinitely at       > the Windows XP flash screen.
