   The ONLY other possibility that occurred to me after sending that is that I   
   was presuming you were using a genuine Microsoft manufactured XP   
   installation disk. If you are, then disregard the rest of this post.   
      
   If you're using an "unbranded" installation disk (one that you burned, or   
   got from a buddy) then there's a slight chance that it has a virus. Some   
   BIOSs have rudimentary virus checking built into them, and this may be why   
   it's saying it's trying to protect your computer.
