   You need to give us more info.   
      
   What version of Windows xp and what sp?   
      
   Are you able to get into windows explorer?   
      
   Remember that trashing the shortcut doesn't trash the program.   
      
   So try to make a new shortcut for one of your programs to see if that will   
   work. Then do the rest manually.
