   Windows XP Home, SP3

I just wiped a system and reinstalled XP Home from a licensed copy in
the box. All seemed well at the start.

I installed Office 2001 (this is an old machine for use at home), and
after allowing MS Update/Windows Update to do its thing all seemed
   pretty OK.

Anyway, I got to KB954459 in Windows/MS Updates which is a security
   patch.

No matter what I do, I cannot get it to install. I tried using
Windows Update, going to the update site and manually selecting it,
etc. Each time it tells me the installation fails.

I then went to the individual KB files and downloaded a copy and
attempted to manually run the installer and got a message that the
file is corrupted {File Corrupted!}. I picked up the copy that was
specifically labeled for Windows XP, SP3.

Is this patch already rolled up elsewhere ?

I'm about ready to check it off to be ignored and call it a day if so.

This is the only Windows update that seems to be refusing to install
after multiple attempts. I did have one other fail but I was able to
manually install that on its own (not as a part of several) from
   Windows Updates.
