From: JT@9b01.com              A short time ago I ran into a problem where the machine will appear to       logon for the user but about the logon completion time it immediately       switches to logoff. Taking to the drive to another machine as a data       drive did not reveal any virus etc. to be present using AVG, McAfee or       Mozilla's Clamwin. The hardware is an HPSF5100 or DC5100. Using the MS       disk that came with the machine in repair mode does not cure the       problem. A copy was made to a spare partition on another drive and a       new install was made with everything appearing to work except the       10/100/1000 nic driver. Neither Intel driver from HP appears to work       for the new install either. Since all apps can be re-installed & all       data has been recovered either a cure for the logging problem or the       correct nic driver would be a cure. Any help would be appreciated.              James SoCal              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
