   In theory, Auric, that's great. The problem is that there are people like   
   myself who filter out messages that are posted to more than one group.

   I wish I could answer your question, Dave. I've never seen that behavior   
   before. I can confirm, however, that it does the show same thing on my XP   
   Home SP3.   
      
   However, on my system it does in fact create the file "somefile.txt" which   
   contains the word "anything". The "1" does not appear in the file.
