|    Search misbehaving    |

From: harry.m1byt@NOSPAM.tiscali.co.uk              Two weeks ago I had to do a fresh install. All is now pretty well back       to normal, except for Search.              I have three hard disks on the system, 1x SATA and 2x USB, with a total       of 9 partitions, which I recently tried to search all of for a certain       file of which there were 4x instances of on the three drives. My third       disk was added to use for backup, following my recent reinstall. So       this really is the first time I have run search with three disks       installed.              The search took quite a while and a long way into it, the screen       started to corrupt, starting with the search window, gradually       spreading to other windows and eventually crashing the other software       running at the same time. The only error I could find was one       complaining of 'error ad 3875-d' which I think is associated with       Mailwasher, which was running at the time. The only way to get things       back to normal is to reboot, loging out and back in doesn't help.       Search does this evertime it is run and there seems to be plenty of       spare memory and CPU resources when it happens - other than that, there       are no issues.              Has anyone come across this problem before/ found a solution please?              --       Regards,        Harry (M1BYT) (L)       http://www.ukradioamateur.co.uk              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
