|    Icon order in "Save As" dialog    |

From: BarryDGold@ca.rr.com              In the "save As" dialog (and also the "Open File" dialog), you are       presented with a bunch of icons in (I think) List View, which you can       use to navigate to the folder you want and then select a file (or type       in a new file name once you've reached the desired folder).              My copy of WinXP has gotten itself into a state where the icons are       listed in Reverse order by Date Modified. This means that all the       folders are at the end, and makes it hard to navigate to a particular       folder (especially since they aren't in alphabetical order).              I can correct this by right-clicking and choosing "Order icons by --       Name", but I have to do this at every stage as I navigate the folder       tree, and the Windows shell doesn't remember that ordering.              Is there some way to tell Windows XP to go back to the standard order       (by Name, from 0-9 then a-z) -- and have it remembered for the future?              When I use the "Windows Explore" version to navigate, it remembers the       ordering I establish in each folder, but not in the "Save As" and "Open       File" dialogs.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
