      From: jana@ca.inter.net              Converting USB to serial with a simple adaptor works in the virtual mode. It       is not a true serial port with the full attributes. You will have to get a       true serial card for your computer. If it is a laptop, you can get a PCMCIA       serial card for it. These are not very expensive from what I remember.              If your device only needs only a simple RX/TX communications, does not       require DSR, DTS and etc., and it is not sensitive to timing issues, then       the simple USB to serial adaptor should work most of the time.              --              JANA       _____                     "Dick Tennent" |
