|    Mapped drive not reconnecting at login    |

From: tWilson148@comcast.net              Okay:       1. I am not sure of how I mapped this drive, but I am pretty sure that I       would have checked "reconnect" at login; I am a Win 2k user, and this       notebook is one of my employees', and he brings it in & connects to a mapped       network drive.       2. In Win2k, when one sets up a mapping like this, there is a checkbox in       the mapping setup that says "reconnect at login," which, of course, when he       is not in the office will report "no Q drive available," and he goes on,       un-connected, of course. Now, my XP user does not report such notification       when he is not in the office. I thought that strange.       3. But when he is in the office, the mapping appears after he is logged in,       but an application that must access this drive does not automatically do so,       and therefore does not display the folders that is should be so accessing.       4. We note this, then close that application, explore the drives, click on       the mapped drive, expanding it, close explorer, reopen that application, and       voila, the folders are now displayed.              What is the correct & automatic solution to this, please?              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
