      Norton Anti Virus is OK.  Zone Alarm is a firewall. Do you have the   
   XP firewall running also at the same time as the Zone Alarm firewall?   
   You only need one or the other.   
   Zone Alarm detects activity in both directions - attempts to come into   
   your system and attempts of programs trying to connect to the internet   
   (even valid attempts).   
   The XP firewall only blocks incoming attempts. Outgoing attempts to   
   connect to the internet are not detected.   
   With SP2 you may get a prompt if you turn off the XP firewall, but if   
   you have Zone Alarm running your still safe.
