Hmm, You know, I never set anything in my BIOS. Ever. I was on an
old 'screwdriver shop' machine with Win 98SE and had a chance to grab
this machine so I did. I put my development on it and use the old
machine as a network archive and print server. And as 'second' when I
run software that requires multiple machines.

The only thing I've really done to this machine that wouldn't be considered
'standard' is I had to go in and muck with the registry because I couldn't
get a pod to work on the LPT port. I've since converted to USB pods
for my development for all but one of the projects, so I still need the hack
in the registry, but other than that... (The hack is to make XP stay away
from the LPT port so the pod won't get interfered with. The pod is a
P&E MON08-Multilink I was also running a BDM Multilink for the
HC12, but got a USB version for a fraction of the price, and I can take
that with me and plug into my laptop with no hacks when I'm on the
road! I link both the setups, but I have to say that in the future I will
only design using parts that I can use the USB BDM Multilink pod. )
