From: jay@nospam.net              hmmm       on xp i'd disable the firewall totally.       on 98 make sure file and printer sharing are enabled.       First open a cmd prompt on each and see if you can ping each machine       from the other one. If this goes then you have connectivity, flashing       lights can be deceptive.       If the pings are going, the firewall is disabled and 98 has file and       printer sharing set up it may just take a while for them to appear in       network neighborhood/my network places. I can't remember how to       increase the rate of network refresh but it can take awhile for machines       to appear in network neighborhood.       I suggest instead, if the pings are going, type in the name of the share       into a browser or explorer window for example \\192.58.10.1\myshare.       This should go if connectivity is working and network neighborhood is       taking awhile to refresh              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
