|    XP stopping    |

From: h2gt2g42-news@yahoo.co.uk              I have a new machine with XP SP2 installed and the system just freezes for       no apparent reason. There is no pattern to it sometimes it will happen more       than once a day sometimes it will go as long as a week without stopping.       When it freezes it will not respond to anything but the restart button.       After a restart I can go back to what I was doing at the time and carry on       as if nothing had happened. I have looked in the event viewer but there are       no faults indicated and as far as I can see nothing was running in       background at the time. I am new to XP and not got to grips with it yet. Is       there anyway I can trace what is causing the system to freeze. I have       managed to crash the system once so far but it restarted itself as I have       autorestart switched on but this clearly is not being triggered by whatever       is freezing the system.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
