You never heard of the great auk?
Once it was thick upon the UseNet, but k00ks came along, poaching
(eggsistentially), and rendered it extinct in only a matter of weeks.
Charles Dorwin, who first described it, is also credited with the
unfortunate comment that the right foot of the great auk, carried not
as a keyring fob but jambed with great care up his ass, was the
reason he won all those door prizes for opening them with his face,
and people flocked to it in droves and drove to it in flocks, and
their insatiable demands to have their assed kicked drove it off
   UseNet forever.
