For acquiring updates don't bother with any of the items in the Help and
support Center's "Ask for assistance" section. Try "Keep your computer
up-to-date with Windows Update" in the "Pick a Task" section. The Help
and Support Center will be using the HTML engine from Internet Explorer,
even if another browser is your default. You may be asked to permit a
download for the version checker, so you will need to be running on an
OS login/account with the appropriate privileges. Apparently a list of
available updates will be transmitted to your computer and compared to
your OS installation by code running on your computer. When offered the
choice I usually select "Custom" instead of "Express" install. Over dial
up some of the updates would take HOURS to download, but should start
promptly and maintain a pace consistent with your connection's bandwidth.

Most searches utilize an implied "or" when multiple words are entered
(trunk latches is "trunk" OR "latches" instead of "trunk latches"). Some
will list pages containing the word sequence "trunk latches" first If
you surround both words with quotation marks ("trunk latches").
Sometimes a link for "Advanced search" will lead to a search page with
more explanation about the available options.
