|    Trouble with COM port    |
|    23 Aug 10 16:32:32    |
From: hgxrp@yahoo.com              I'm into radios (shortwave, scanners, etc.) and use various programs to       control and program them.              Downloaded a program called PDW which uses the COM(1) and now in control       panel, it states PDW Slicer Communications Port. I don't recall seeing that       entry previously. While I haven't used the program (PDW), it has fouled up       software dealing with my radios (via the COM port).              I deleted the program and disabled the driver rather than deleting it,       thinking that the COM port would now work. It did not.              Can I just delete this entry and will the computer install the 'normal'       resident driver(s) for the COM ports on the next startup?              Thanks.              HankG              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
