From: neutrino1@ca.rr.com              I run my desktop computer remotely with my laptop computer using       TightVNC because I can use my laptop while laying down. For the       last several days, when I try to use the desktop computer, I find       that TightVNC has shut its self down and I cannot establish a new       connection.              When I go into the computer room, I find that several programs on       the desktop computer have error messages saying that they cannot       write a file. Agent 5.0 says that it has an unknown exception.              Yankee Clipper III says that it cannot save files because it has       insufficient resources. Yankee Clipper III will have as many as 350       error messages stacked up on top of each other.              I use StatBar. It will have black rectangles instead of its normal       buttons. ACDSee 2.4 will forget that it is registered and it will       forget the list of most recent directories that files were moved or       copied to. After I reboot, ACDSee will remember these things again.              Even after I dismiss all the error messages, the computer does not       operate correctly so I have to reboot. I have stopped loading       Yankee Clipper III but I still have the problem.              I used to be able to run this computer for weeks and only reboot       when a Windows update required a reboot. I have two gigs of ram and       a fixed size four gigs of page file. Windows Task Manager says that       the page file is always less than 900 megs.              Does anyone know what is causing this and what I can do to solve       this problem? Thank you in advance for all replies.       --       Whenever I hear or think of the song "Great green gobs of greasy       grimey gopher guts" I imagine my cat saying; "That sounds REALLY,       REALLY good. I'll have some of that!"              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
