From: keith_nuttle@sbcglobal.net              I purchased a Seagate External Free Agent Desktop drive yesterday and       installed it this morning. Evey thing went well. I backed up a       directory, and then repeated the backup several other times to add some       forgotten subdirectories. Every thing went well and worked. I accessed       the drive with the Windows Explore again no problem, All of the files       were backed up on the drive.              Problem: I turned the computer off and late the this afternoon my wife       turned the computer on, it hung at the first startup screen. I       disconnected the drive and this time the computer started with no       problem. Turned off the computer reconnected the drive and turned it       on, it hung. Each time I tried to start the computer with the drive       attached to the USB port the computer hung. Each time I started it with       the Drive removed the computer started as it has for the last year.              I am running Windows XP SP3 on an HP A1140N computer. The drive is a       1tb Seagate FreeAgent Desk.              Can some one help to solve this problem, so I can leave the drive       attached and turn it on and off with out disconnecting the drive?              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
