|    problem with Firefox and OE    |
|    08 Mar 11 12:35:16    |
From: deft@hio.net              Maybe someone can help me. This isn't a crippling issue, but one I'd like       to fix. I am running Win XP SP 3 and regularly browse with the latest       Firefox and use OE for email/ news. Here's are the problems I'm having:              1) When I'm trying to use Firefox, I repeatedly have to hit the search or       refresh to get to webpages. I may have to search or refresh up to ten times       before getting there. My connection via DSL is at normal speed and       downloads, etc are fine.              2) In OE, I have to manually invoke "receive all" often because the first       time when opened, I'll get an error that there was no connection. When I go       to the newsgroups, I often have to "refresh" because it won't update the       first time opened and I get an error that the server isn't there.              To me, this sounds like a problem in either the connection somehow or in the       configuration that shares both the browser and OE, but I have been unable to       narrow it down. I do have McAfee Site Advisor installed and I understand       this may be the culprit, but I think I may have had these problems before       its installation and I don't know how to disable it to be certain.              Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
