      However, there should be a final option available to the individual   
   person as to whether or not to accept a supposed update as - genuine,   
   desirable, appropriate, or otherwise wanted or needed.   
      The menu screen might have a "Cancel" panel, but this, it seems, merely   
   causes screen to disappear temporarily, only to recur next time you use the   
   computer.   
      Why would Adobe Acrobat Reader (for example) need an update, between a   
   whole series upgrade?  - and for some supposed security reason?   
      Microsoft offers downloads, but what if your system crashes and you have   
   to reboot from scratch - then catch-up applies re patches?   
       Of course, your Anti-Virus security system must keep up with the   
   hackers, but those downloads are automatic anyway.
