|    Strange unknown program    |
|    28 Jul 11 06:57:22    |
From: hgxrp@yahoo.com              On a few occasions, after the computer has been idle for a couple of hours,       I will go through the shut down procedures which seem to take longer. The       HD LED will glow constantly, and some programs will hang (not responding).              One such program indication shows a bunch of Asian characters in the title       bar. I suspect that this program is up to no good and would like to remove       it. Being that the notification shows for a very brief period, and the       Asian characters, I'm at a loss as to how I can track it down.              Strangely, my AV (Avira AntiVir) will show 1 hidden object when searching       for Rootkits and Active Malware, but doesn't name it. When the search is       done, the report indicates all zero values for its findings. The program in       question first made its appearance before this AV was installed. A full       scan of my drive has also indicated no problems.              Anyone familiar with such a program, and more importatly, how to find/remove       it?              Thanks for reading.              HankG              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
