Good thing then that Apple markets them as *home* computers then, eh?

FWIW, I've never seen FMC market Bradley Fighting Vehicles as "Soccer
   Mom" commuting :-)

Windows has had a strength on a "Ubiquity" basis. I can recall several
years ago a project (yes, it happened to also be "multi-million" in
scope) that the initial recommendation was to go with Apple G5 XServe
hardware (superior bandwidth) ... until they found out that the software
developer skills were specialized and they couldn't find enough
appropriately certified programmers to meet the program schedule - - so
they switched to .NET and dropped some of the technical requirements so
as to reduce the system bandwidth to what Windows PCs could handle at
   the time.

YMMV. I run a variety of systems ... and I'll opine that whatever
systems you prefer, I use for Skeet practice with my 12 gage shotgun :-)
In reality, I actually practice what you tried to preach:
   "Yawn...whatever does the job".
