   The first thing I would check is the processor fan (and the main fan   
   while you're at it) to make sure it is working properly and that the   
   radiator it is not clogged up with dust. After that check the memory.   
   There is a programme called memtest but it takes a while to check   
   however if you have more than one memory bar you can start by removing   
   all but one, use the computer for a while with that, then replace it   
   with another. If any combination gives a BSOD then you know the memory   
   bar is dead.   
      
   And while you've got the box open look at the capacitors.condensers.   
   There tops shoulmd be flat, if any of them are rounded then you'e   
   motherboard is going and needs replacing.
