    mI'm sorry about clogging this group, buyt I'm out of ideas.   
   I didn't "fry" the drive after all.   
     My problem.   
      
    I have an old (1992 vintage) hard drive from which I want to retreive   
   some old games.   
    The drive was a working drive when the monitor on the old system   
   died leaving no access to the drive.   
     S0, I removed it and placed it into a container which presumably   
   makes it a USB drive. The indications are that it's properly into the   
   box. Then I plug it into an unused USB port on my XPPro laptop.   
     XP Pro didn't recognize the addition when I plugged it in, and a   
   "new hardware" search doesn't find it.   
      I need some help regarding how to get the XP Pro machine to   
   use it.
