    Over more than a week of terrible computer problems,   
   I finally got a fast working system (after a registry cleaner)   
   but it seem some parts of Windows XP must have gone missing.   
    As I try to read a SD card, or a USB hard drive I can't.   
    In either case, with a reboot, the system discovers the   
   "new hardware" but an attempt to "install" gets a "can't find   
   the software" diagnostic, and locks up the computer (   
   ny program opening attempt leads to a not a win 32 program   
   response --- a shut down/ reboot  reboot -- gets back a working   
   system.   
    I have no original Win XP disk, as it came installed on the lap top,   
   and I don't want to go all the way back to the beginning with   
   ACER's 4 recovery CDs   
     Any suggestioins would be appreciated. Thanks.
