    XP Pro on an ACER laptop.   
      
   Somehow, I've developed system problems.   
   These include, missing or corrupt drivers   
   (e.g. I can't use SD cards or USB hard drives   
   --which I'v done when things were good; and, eg.   
   I have a partioned HD -- used Partition Magic ---   
   but now it (PM) won't run on the machine???   
      
      Is there a way to overwrite Win XP (with all upgrades to date)   
   by buying a new copy (XP Pro SP3) and installing it??   
   Or is that a good way to mess things up even more ???   
      
    Knowledgeable help will be greatly appreciated.
