    If one has XP Pro, with all updates since XP came out,   
   installed but with a messed up system, what happens if   
   a new XP Pro SP3 disk is bought and "installed"?   
     Does it wipe C:\ clean and do a new install?   
   Or, does it overwrite only files which are older or   
   differ in size?   
      
     I had a minor problem of some (at least two) missing or   
   corrupt drivers. But, in an attempt to resolve that I ended up   
   with a piece of really viscous malware. As a result, the   
   system is reall mesed up --- useable but clearlyit'ws not well!
