   No, it would be a complete waste of space as none of the programmes   
   would work, or just the odd small one perhaps. When programmes are   
   installed they put things in programme files but also in Windows,   
   System32, Application Data or anywhere else that they need to. A copy of   
   just programme files wouldn't let them work therefore.   
      
   You can, of course, almost always install programmes anywhere you like,   
   usually by going via a 'personalise' or advanced' menu at installation   
   time, but that just makes your PC messy and it's much easier to keep   
   them all in the same place, i.e. programme files.
